Coming Soon: Haus Kartheiser Wirtshaus

Opening Update

Haus Kartheiser Wirtshaus Is Coming Soon

Haus Kartheiser Wirtshaus is preparing to bring a chef-led German comfort kitchen to 1501 LaSalle Street in Ottawa. The restaurant will launch inside the renovated VFW hall with dinner service, house signatures, and custom event menus built around schnitzel, wurst, spätzle, rotkohl, rich sauces, and warm hospitality.

The goal is simple: create a polished but approachable Wirtshaus experience that stands on its own as a restaurant while also supporting weddings, hall events, private dinners, and special programming inside the space.

Menu Direction

Old-World Comfort, Built for Ottawa

The first menu will not try to be everything at once. It will focus on strong comfort plates, clear house signatures, and a chef-led structure that can grow after the opening rhythm is established.

Guests will see the Wirtshaus direction first through the food: schnitzel sauces, wurst plates, spätzle, rotkohl, warm potato sides, pretzels, and custom menus for special events.
